Building Efficient and Timeless Tech
It really is. And the thing is, is that's where, you know, I wish there were more companies like Punch out there because what we do at Punch for these founders is we talk to them about what they're trying to build and we figure out what's the most efficient way to build it where you won't have to throw everything away when you want to start growing. And we make sure that they own their IP. They own their code. They know how to make decisions about it. and try to give them, you know, something that's not going to be dated like the minute it comes out, especially in this environment right now with AI being like the forefront of just about everything. People come up with ideas for things that look like they were built in, you know, 2010 and it's 2025. Yeah, so like that would be like, I would say like your brand essence, like making sure that that brand possesses a sort of timelessness or accurately up to date kind of how we as people relate to things, product ideas. Right. And the challenge right now for founders, I think that we're in kind of a nexus right now, because there's a way that we're all used to interfacing with computers and phones and stuff, and it's all forms-based, and it's all like you see something and you touch the light or something like that. And that whole thing is getting thrown out the window with things like ChatGPT and you know, conversational AI and text-to-speech and, you know, all of this stuff. And we're having to, while they're having their great ideas, we're having to think about, well, what is the future of interfacing with these things like?
Retinal Activation Syndrome: The Power of Mindset
What if this doesn't happen? What if that doesn't happen? And you make mitigation strategies to make yourself feel better, right? And that calms your nerves and everything. But what you've just done is you've given the other 90% of your brain that you're not using a job to do, which is here are all the things that she's looking for to go wrong. Look for it. You ever, like, go to buy a car, like a Kia, and all of a sudden, every time you're driving down the road, you never realize there were that many hundred of Kias driving around? It's the same thing. It's retinal activation syndrome.
Tech Startup Pitfalls
Yeah, my name is Gina Bennett. I'm the chief product officer of a company called Construction Check. I'm a solutions architect with an organization called Punch Group. And I've been a startup founder, a startup coach for about five years now. And my mission in life is to try and teach founders how to be CEOs and let go of their happiness. Yeah. So what is the big problem with technology? I mean, I imagine lots of founders go into it. They want to solve a problem. It's all about solving a problem. That's the first thing. Don't do anything if you don't really have a passionate problem that you want to solve or a customer that wants that solved. But it usually involves SaaS. It usually involves technology. What are the pitfalls that happen with this? Look, the biggest pitfall is that you know founders have a great idea and most of them are user everybody's a user of technology right you've got phones you got all this stuff that you use so you know how you want it to work but you don't know how to make it so and what do they do they go to upwork where they talk to a friend who has like a team in offshore and they start getting something built but they don't know what language it's been built in they just they don't know how is it going to be supported? They're pretty much kind of flying blind and, you know, getting raked over the tolls most of the time because they don't know how long it takes to do something.
Retinal Activation Syndrome: The Brain's Focus Mechanism
And then it does that. So once you realize that your brain is a predictive machine, think about like how the, the level of anxiety that we put into like doing something like being a starter, right? And it's like, okay, I'm going to do this, but what if people don't like it? What if this doesn't happen? What if that doesn't happen? And you make mitigation strategies to make yourself feel better, right? And that calms your nerves and everything. But what you've just done is you've given the other 90% of your brain that you're not using a job to do, which is here are all the things that she's looking for to go wrong. Look for it. You ever, like, go to buy a car, like a Kia, and all of a sudden, every time you're driving down the road, you never realize there were that many hundred of Kias driving around? It's the same thing.
2025 and the Predictive Brain: Preparing for the Future
Sure we can. I'll tell you my, my thing about 2025 is I don't know that people realize it, but we are at the end of the first quarter of the 21st century. That's, that's major. Right. And what are we going to do with the next quarter of this century? You know? And I had a, there was an article that I read. Very recently, I'm a firm believer in neuropsychology and cognitive behavior theory. And the article I read said that the brain is a predictive machine, right? So it doesn't like go in and say, oh, this is new. Let me figure out. It's like it's pattern matching to everything that you've ever experienced to figure out is this good or is it bad? What is it like? Right. And then it does that.
Investment Insights: MicroStrategy, Tesla, and Bitcoin
I've gotten to start getting into Bitcoin on doing through my retirement ETF with... And then also into MicroStrategy. And of course, MicroStrategy is the number one holder of Bitcoin. And then also Tesla. If you own Tesla, you're the fifth largest holder of by indirect indirectly of Bitcoin. It's fascinating.
